Metro Newspaper Asks to be Recycled!

Posted in Uncategorized by touchmarketing on March 17, 2009

Metro Newspaper

Metro Newspaper

Metro, the free newspaper, has launched a campaign to encourage their readers to recycle their Metro once they’ve finished reading it. The campaign shows a copy of the Metro left on the seat of a train, tube or bus and features headlines such as “Horror – Woman Abandons Metro on Train”. The adverts all contain the message: “Leaving your Metro behind is littering. Please take it away and recycle it”.

The newspaper, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, is free to travellers on trains, the tube and buses across the country. In October 2008, Metro launched a six-month trial recycling scheme with bins in six tube stations. They now plan, with the help of the new campaign, to encourage more people to recycle their papers and alert them that leaving it on public transport is not acceptable and have plans to set up yet more recycling facilities at various stations.

Advertising is a powerful tool and getting the right message across in the correct manner is vitally important in communicating with your target audience.

When thinking about advertising, it is crucial to consider all the key elements of your campaign. Why you are advertising, how you will advertise, what is your message, what action do you want respondents to take amongst many other factors. At Touch Marketing & Design, we are highly experienced at creating eye-catching and thought-provoking advertising campaigns that really help businesses to spread their message.

Diet Irn-Bru hopes to hit the spot!

Posted in Uncategorized by touchmarketing on February 25, 2009

Barr’s Irn-Bru adverts are infamous for their humour and are simply iconic, from the original “Made in Scotland from girders’ adverts to more modern examples like the ‘Phenomenal” campaign.

Now they have launched a new outdoor campaign to draw consumer attention to its sugar free variety, diet Irn-Bru. The ads feature two amusing images and ask consumers to ‘Spot the difference’. The only difference being that one of the images clearly says ‘sugar free’. Barr hopes that the adverts will illustrate to consumers that the drink has ‘the same refreshing taste’ as normal Irn-Bru.

Humour is often used in advertising to draw consumer attention and as Irn-Bru has proved throughout the years, it works! If you think adding some humour into your advertising campaigns or you want to look at how else you can market your business or products through advertising then please get in touch. Touch Marketing & Design can help you get your advertising campaign off the ground and help to grow your business.

Kew up for the Anniversary Extravaganza!

Posted in Uncategorized by touchmarketing on February 20, 2009

Kew Gardens in London is celebrating its 250th anniversary with a ‘tropical extravaganza’ of a campaign. The six week campaign will run across a range of media including the London Underground, press ads, taxis and online activity. Their anniversary will be celebrated with a 12 month programme of festivals and events and this advertising campaign will not only support these but also hopefully highlight Kew Gardens’ important role in conservation as well as being a popular London visitor attraction.

The concept is based on the contrast between the grey skies over London and the colour and warmth, which fills Kew Gardens. The creative work features a street full of typical British umbrellas with a vibrant orchid bursting out in a riot of colour.

Kew Gardens hope to achieve awareness that there is natural beauty in the heart of the busy, grey capital. This campaign is typical of big brand advertising as it runs across various mediums. If you want your advertising to work for you its good to keep it consistent and choose to advertise in a variety of mediums, which in turn will engage a wider audience. Touch marketing & Design work with clients from a wide range of industries to help create marketing strategies and advertising campaigns that really help brands grow.
