JKR was asked to rejuvenate the two ‘heritage brands’ making them eye-catching with a no-nonsense brand character. The new packaging is aimed to attract 35 – 55 year old ‘lapsed users’ as well as appealing to existing customers.

The new packaging, due out this month, is visually strong and should help them stand out from the rest of the products on the shelf.

Cadbury Rises Again!

After a slow start to the year Cadbury has now seen sales rising in the UK and US.

Wispa

The confectionary group saw improved trading during April and May, and fully expects to meet forecasts for full-year sales growth. The strong Easter trade and the re-launch of the Wispa bar saw Cadbury gain a good market share.

Wispa successfully returned as a limited-edition product in 2007, five years after it had been axed due to falling sales. After a large fan base came to light they re-launched the chocolate bar as a permanent product with a huge advertising campaign behind it.

Cadburys say that their chocolate sales remained ‘robust’, while gum and sweets returned to growth after the slow start at the beginning of the year. They recently launched, in the UK, a major campaign, on Trident gum packaging, to win tickets to see Beyonce at The 02 Arena. The consumer was given the opportunity to win free tickets to attend the concert every time they bought a pack of Trident gum.
