The word ‘it’ has been highlighted in the identity, which will give flexibility in future campaigns. There is also a new ‘tidy man’ icon which will be used as an anchoring device for campaign lines, which can be adapted depending on issue and location. All of this will bring the campaign to a more local level.

Colour is vital!

Posted in Uncategorized by touchmarketing on March 6, 2009

Colour is the strongest visual element of a brand, above and beyond the typeface, slogan or logo shape, as it is easily recognisable and memorable. In a survey held by trademark lawyers Withers and Rogers, a sample were asked to name the colours used on various brands. The AA came out on top with a ‘colour recall’ with 98% of surveyors correctly guessing yellow and black.

Other brands that did well were Easyjet, with 93% recognising orange, Cadbury for its purple and BP for its green both were recognised by 88% and Royal Mail’s red was recognised by 85%.

Withers & Rogers say that even though there is a prominence on the colour of a brand, it is rare that the colour is registered for trademerk protection, as this is difficult to obtain. Cadbury has been successful in protecting its purple pantone, because of its consistent use over many years. AA, Royal Mail and BP have also been successful and registered their colours for trademark protection.

Colour is vital to a corporate identity as once designed the identity is integral to all marketing and literature. It becomes the brand cornerstone of your business and therefore needs to memorable. Reckitt Benckiser Unveils a 'Flash' New Identity

Posted in Uncategorized by touchmarketing on February 19, 2009

The household, health and personal care group Reckitt Benckiser, famous for Vanish, Flash, Cillit Bang and Nurofen, have unveiled a new corporate identity. The company now aim to be referred to as RB and hope to become better known for their overall brand instead of just their products.

The identity has taken inspiration from high performance kites due to RB’s high-speed characteristic corporate performance. The kite mark logo in the identity will be used as a standalone device once the new brand has been established.

A simple identity with an icon or device can do wonders for the profile of your company and products as it is not only easily recognisable but can be more memorable. For example, the McDonalds ‘M’ is just as iconic, if not more so, than the full identity itself.

Touch Marketing & Design are experts at ensuring your identity is powerful and positions your business in the right light. See how we can help you and your business with our proven corporate identity services.
