The website promoting Edinburgh Festivals has now been launched – www.edinburghfestivals.co.uk.
As Edinburgh is a capital of cultural events and arts festivals it was vital to have a central service, which allows consumers to find out information on any ongoing and future events throughout the city. The website gives information that will appeal to different cultural audiences with great interactive services available.
The website, which has been created by Leeds based digital agency Numiko, represents 12 of the city’s major festivals throughout the year. The site will be developed in the future to enable ticket booking and purchasing system covering around 300 venues. A TV channel will also, hopefully, be part of these future developments.

Rebecca Adlington Launches New Website
Rebecca Adlington, double Olympic gold medal winning British swimmer, now has a new website, www.rebeccaadlington.co.uk, which launched earlier this month. The website was designed by a Warwickshire based design studio.
After winning at the Olympics in Beijing there has been an enormous interest in Rebecca and she hopes this will continue over the next few years. The new website will allow her to keep fans and visitors of the site informed of her ventures and progress. Imperial War Museum Campaign
The Imperial War Museum North in Manchester has a new exhibition, Captured: The Extraordinary Life of Prisoners of War. This is the Salford Quays based museum’s major exhibition for 2009.
The exhibition itself shows what everyday life for soldiers and civilians captured in conflicts in Europe and the Far East. Visitors will also discover true stories about legends like The Great Escape.
The exhibition advertising, deigned by a Cheshire based agency Wonder Assocites, uses contemporary illustration and typography that depicts the dramatic moment of being captured. The use of colour and style reflects propaganda posters from around this time also. Other marketing material has been created including invites for previews; outdoor campaigns, online and press advertising, promotional print, direct mail featuring a limited edition escape glider and in-venue promotions.

Aberdeen Angus Reveal New Website
The World famous cattle breeding association, the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society, has launched a new website www.aberdeen-angus.co.uk. Designed by their Cambridge based agency, the website is the first to be developed for any breeding association worldwide.
The Aberdeen Angus breed is globally recognised and is one of the only beef brands that has support from retailers such as Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and Burger King.
The website was created to allow breeders, commercial producers, retailers and youth development members access to all information they need to know about the beef breed. The website has also been created to be highly visible in search engines. With the help of this new website Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society have lifted their brand awareness and set themselves a digital platform which is above other breeding associations.

Thomson Local Has a New Look
Thomson Local has revealed a whole lot of new features on its website, thomsonlocal.com, which they hope will boost their online business.
Changes to the site include a five star voting system in which people can rate and review local businesses. Users are able to score advertisers on value for money, quality, level of service, time taken and also leave comments on their overall impression of the business. Businesses will be provided with ‘rate my work’ business cards to give to customers directing them to the site in a hope to build ratings.
